PHYSICAL INTENSITY



WHAT YOU MIGHT BE GETTING YOURSELF INTO
  1. We want to help you with understanding what to expect on your next photography workshop. As some workshops require more or less physical activity, our hope is to provide you with a scale to determine a level of physical fitness and mobility required for each specific workshop.

  2. Some workshops require minimal walking, while others may include hikes, or even walking through knee deep water.

  3. You may experience long hours, including early rising to catch the sunrise or staying out late at night for night skies photography.

  4. If you are in doubt about your physical limitations for any given workshop, please reach out to us.



 

EASY
  • Short walks from a motorized vehicle.

  • Cumulative daily walking amounts to 1 mile or less.

  • Minimal ups and downs with occasional steps.

  • Generally easy terrain with minimal ups and downs.

  • All participants must be able to carry their own photography gear while maintaining balance.



 

MODERATE
  • Walking of up to 2 miles from a motorized vehicle.

  • Cumulative daily walking up to 3 miles.

  • Ground may be uneven at spots.

  • Possibility of walking in or around sand, rocks or possibly mud.

  • Any incline in elevation will be moderate.

  • Hotter or colder climates in addition to higher altitude may increase difficulty for those with breathing issues.


 
DIFFICULT
  • Walks may average 3-4 hours of walking during a photo shoot of up to 5 miles or more per day.

  • Ground may include obstacles to traverse, including loose sand, rocky terrain, creeks or snowy conditions.

  • Hiking may include steeper inclines.

  • All participants should be in good physical condition with no mobility issues. All participants must be able to manage gear on uneven ground.


 

CHALLENGING
  • Very Long Hiking involved.

  • Terrain can include steep inclines, uneven ground, loose sand, rocks, creeks to cross.

  • May involve overnight camping which involves carrying your photography gear plus food and supplies.

  • All participants should be in excellent physical condition with no mobility issues.
